About us

0JU439pz_400x400.jpg

Scotlands Greenspace is a voluntary organisation that prides itself in ensuring our natural greenspace in Scotland is preserved for future generations.

Green Space has so many benefits to the environment we live in, our mental health and our local wildlife.

With a network of volunteers around Scotland, we are able to maintain our green space for everyone to enjoy.

We can be found on Twitter & Facebook by searching for @GreenspaceLover, where we update on a regular basis on the facts and stunning imagery that can be found within this beautiful area.

We are lucky enough to be funded by the Lottery foundation and JAF PLC.

JAF PLC has made a pledge to help communities get their green space restored and regenerated so that everyone can enjoy nature and help to preserve Scotland's natural habitats.

Scotlands Greenspace (@GreenspaceLover) is happy to be working with JAF PLC on our mission and hope many more companies may think of becoming partners for this great cause in the future.

When we talk about Greenspaces, we are talking about our are our natural health service, our children’s outdoor classrooms and the town’s green lungs!

Greenspaces do really matter to every single person and community because they aren’t just the spaces where your kids kick a ball around, play hide and seek or where your neighbour or yourself walks the dog.

When we have good quality greenspaces they create environments where we can lead safe, happy, healthy and active lives, not only that but They also make attractive and vibrant places where people want to live and attract businesses that want to invest.

Did you know our Greenspaces are often multi-functional?

  • breathing spaces - oases of calm amidst city bustle, space to unwind

  • healthy spaces - inviting places which encourage us to get active

  • living spaces - attractive spaces on our doorsteps

  • meeting spaces - communal places encouraging communities to come together

  • play spaces - safe places where children can adventure, explore and imagine

  • working spaces - attractive places where people want to live and work

  • learning spaces - natural grounds for lifelong learning

  • wild spaces - informal places that welcome nature back to our cities

  • celebration spaces - gathering places where people come together for events and activities

  • creative spaces - inspirational places encouraging creativity in an outdoor setting

  • growing spaces - productive places that nourish and sustain communities and individuals

Please check the video above, where you will see a case study around greenspace conservation.

What Our Volunteers Say

"Best job ever"

As a young person just out of school, I decided to take up some volunteering to help me gain experience.  I have leanrned so much about preservaing our communitys greenspace and learning all about the animals that share that habitat.

"Great Service"

#Greenspace has helped transform our community with the regeneration of the park within our community.  It is now a beautful place to spend time in and walk the dogs/

"Kind & Loving"

The love they share with the communities in which they volunteer to transform there areas have changed so many lives, I have been a volunteer for the past 4 years and would not change it for the world.
